What is an international dialing code?
It’s the country calling code you add before a national number when dialing from another country — for example +44 for the UK or +91 for India. The Dialing Code Finder looks these up and can format a local number with the code included.
How do I find a country calling code?
Open the Dialing Code Finder and search by country name, ISO code, or digits — or paste an international number in E.164 format (+country code…). You’ll get the calling code, how many hours ahead or behind you they are, and an optional formatted number.
How do I format a phone number for dialing?
Start with +, then the country calling code, then the national number. Many countries use a leading 0 for domestic calls — that 0 is usually dropped for international dialing. The Dialing Code Finder and Phone Number Validator can apply those rules and output E.164 (e.g. +442079460018).
What is E.164 phone number format?
E.164 is the standard international format: a + sign, the country calling code, and the national number with no spaces, brackets, or local prefixes. Example: +442079460018.
Can a phone number validator tell me if a number is active?
No. The phone number validator only checks whether the number matches the country’s known numbering structure. It cannot confirm the number is assigned, in service, or owned by a specific person.
How much does a call cost?
Cost depends on destination, mobile vs landline, the per-minute rate, and call length. Use the rates calculator or the Rates page to estimate before you dial.
Are these tools free?
